Cancellation time

Hello dear readers, just a very quick post to let you know that i have a few cancellations with Uncle Allan that i'd like to book, so if you're wanting to get tattooed with very little waiting involved, here's your chance!

Dates are the 29th of August, and the 2nd and 12th of September.

Fun stuff only, email conspiracyinctattoo@gmail.com to grab them!

I'll be back soon with more updates and pictures and stuff, lots and lots of stuff!

In case you forgot what an Uncle Allan tattoo looks like...*

*Sorry for the iPhone picture, it's all i have!

Some almost, but not really, news about booking with Uncle Allan

So, last week on twitter, Allan dropped this little gem on his followers:

And while it's true we've been talking about changing the booking system, i wasn't quite done with the waiting list at that point, and i am still not done, as there are still quite a few people i have to contact before we move on to a new system.

When we came up with the idea for the separate email waiting list, i pretty much thought it was an idea of pure genius, mostly because i wouldn't have to answer emails with a "no, sorry, he's all booked up" every day.
And most people responded positively, and seemed to have nothing but the best intentions of waiting for as long as it'd take for them to get tattooed.
But the wait was apparently too long, and not everybody lived up to their promise of waiting patiently, and instead of letting us know they were no longer interested in getting tattooed, they'd simply not respond when offered an appointment.
Obviously changing your mind about getting tattooed is fine, and so is running out of patience, but not even replying to emails is pretty immature if you ask me, and kind of a ginourmous waste of time too.

The people who did reply, and who have now had their tattoos done, or will within the next few months, were of course awesome, and i think they're great for waiting around for so long to get tattooed, i'd just hoped there'd be a more reasonable repliers to non-repliers ratio!

So while i still think the waiting list idea is pretty great (seriously, it was, and not just because i came up with it, ahem!) we're gonna have to try something new. Or old, i suppose.

The plan for now is that within the next couple of weeks, i will contact the rest of the people currently on the waiting list and offer them a date to get tattooed.
And after that, we'll probably go back to the old ways of letting you all know here and on twitter/instagram when we're opening up for bookings.
Yeah. More emails for me, but hopefully we'll make some people happy about not having to sign up and wait indefinitely for an appointment!
We will stick to booking about 3-4 months at a time, cause that works best for us, and honestly, we never wanna be booked out years in advance ever again.
So yeah, those are the not-really-news-at-all of the day!
As a reward for reading my boring rant, you get a picture of a tattoo Uncle Allan (almost) finished yesterday.

In other non-news, it looks as if we'll finally get some home made cake next week.

Seriously, when did people stop bringing cake to their appointments, and more importantly, why?!

If all it is is a subtle hint about our weight, i gotta say, we are very offended!

Finally spring

Ok, it's been a while. Time for an update, don't you think?

Spring finally came to Berlin yesterday, and one day later we might all have died from sadness and vitamin D deficiancy, so yay, good timing there spring!

Yesterday we went flea marketing in summer jackets, and today we had coffee outside with NO JACKETS AT ALL! Yeah, i know!

The studio is coming along great, some might even call it finished, but i won't go that far.

It is awesome, though, i'll agree to that.

And the parts that aren't awesome yet hopefully will be soon.

Wendy and Matthew are settling in really well in their new city and in the studio, and since they literally just got here, they have no waiting lists. That's obviously not gonna last forever, so i suggest you book a spring appointment with them right now, before it becomes too hot to even think about tattoos (what? A summer starved girl can dream, right?).

Email Matthew here: matthewgordon@live.com.au and Wendy here: wendy_p@live.com.au to book!

That's it for now, i'll be back soon with more awesome tattoo pictures, but right now the weather calls for yard work, so i'll be outside if you need me!

UPDATE: If you are on Uncle Allan's waiting list, don't forget to check your spam filter for emails, as i've heard from a few people whose emails from us regarding booking, ended up there.

So check, and if you're unsure of whether you may have missed an email from me, feel free to ask!

Studio peek

It's funny, for so long we deliberately waited to post any pictures of the shop online, cause we wanted the new place to be a surprise to the Aussies, but now that they're here, and we're allowed to post pictures, i can't really figure out where to start!
So maybe i'll just wait until i get some film in my camera, and take some real photos of the place?
Maybe, but until then, here are a few little sneak peeks of the studio we now call home.

From around the studio: drawing room, waiting room, employee lounge, work room

Same, and a bit of the hallway too, from my instagram

Don't forget that Wendy Pham and Matthew Gordon are actually here now, in Berlin, and ready to take on clients.
Wendy already worked for a bit on Saturday!
Write them an email to book a date, for now or later, they're here for a long time: matthewgordon@live.com.au or wendy_p@live.com.au
And don't forget that we have Joey Ortega visiting in April too.

Halloween, a follow up post

Oh hi there!

Sorry i haven't gotten around to posting about Halloween until now, but i haven't had much time.

The day after Halloween we had to clean the shop, and pack for Japan, and the day after that, well, we were off to Japan.

And when we got here, and got settled into our old apartment, we realized that this particular apartment doesn't have wifi, and the ancient router won't communicate with Allan's macbook cause it's "too new". Seriously, that's what the company told us... it's not their product that's too old, no, no, ours is too new, obviously!

Oh, Japan, not nearly as technologically advanced as the world wants you to be...

Anyway, today i brought the computer to work, so i could finally post some silly photos and maybe Skype with my dog later!

So, Halloween!

It didn't seem nearly as packed as last year, but we had some good people drop by and the guys did some fun tattoos, so it turned out pretty awesome anyway, and we're definitely still planning on sticking to the tradition, so a Berlin edition will happen next year for sure.

We had some people in pretty amazing costumes show up and even though not all of them ended up getting tattooed, we very much appreciated them taking the time to come have fun with us. Yeah, that goes for the people without costumes too!

Our friend Sussi who baked us an amazing Halloween cake was especially awesome, and she had at least dressed up her kid, and that totally counts!

Davee aka Giant Cockroach had a pretty bad cold, so unfortunately he had to crawl on back to his hotel early, but the rest of us hung in there and stayed until around 2 am i think.

Sorry if i'm not making much sense, but i have a cold, so my brain is at, like, 70%... max.

Anyay, super fun day and i gotta say, being dressed as animals? Best idea ever!

That bear costume is so comfortable, i totally wanted to wear it the next day too... why can't i be a bear every day?

Hmmm, that yellow looked better in the photo app... sorry about that...

 (1. Grrr, dangerous grizzly outside the shop! 2. Allan the crocodile 3. Davee the black metal roach 4. David and Henriette as Big Bad Wolf and little lamb)

(1. Spider cake 2. Tattooing in costume all day! 3. Little Nemi got a tattoo that matched her mom's 4. Our air band works even better when we're in costume!)

Allan's pumpkin carving skills has somehow improved since last year!?

Ok, that's it for now, hopefully i'll be able to do a bit of Japan blogging before we leave, cause i doubt there'll be much time for blogging once we're back in Denmark.
Yeah, in case you forgot, we're still moving to Berlin, so the last two weeks of November will be all about packing, packing and some more packing, so if you want to see us before we leave, you can find us either at the shop or at home, putting shit in boxes!

October guest artist news!!

For those of you hoping we'd have some news on the guest artist front, you're in luck!

I seriously have a lot of news, like big news that some of you may have already heard through that infamous grapevine, but they deserve their own post, and for practical reasons, i can't write that post until Saturday.
How annoyingly cryptic, i know, but soon!
Until then, why not book an appointment with Davee to kill the time?
Yes, that is a fine plan indeed!

Quickie

Here are a few pictures of tattoos... from the phone, sadly, but still, better than nothing, right?

We have some news soon, and hopefully i'll have time to post some London flash preview before next weekend (gah! So soon!), but for now, this is what you get!

Finished rib piece on Mads (his second one, see the first one here)

Henrik's really old bodysuit in progress... 90% of our medical tape supply goes to wrapping up this guy!

We went to Berlin last week where Allan tattooed Sarah in her beautiful new shop... hopefully we'll have a healed picture of this soon... it's geeky as fuck!

We'll be bringing new prints, t-shirts, flash and possibly some originals to London, so that should be exciting!
